🌕 "I’m putting a man on the moon." 🌎
The story goes that JFK once visited NASA and asked a janitor what he was doing. The janitor replied, "I’m putting a man on the moon."
That response captures something profound: when everyone—down to the person sweeping the floor—identifies with a mission, that’s when greatness becomes possible.
It’s not just about achieving the mission; it’s about how you achieve it. When everyone, at every level, feels connected to a shared purpose, the work becomes more humane, exciting, and meaningful.
But there’s a catch: the mission itself must be exciting.
- A mission to "make a little more money" won’t ignite passion.
- A mission to "do the same thing as others, just slightly better", may still succeed—but it’ll lack the soul that drives real connection and greatness.
That’s why I aim big with The Sprezzatura Company.
Okay, maybe "Our Mission to Mars 🍫" is a slightly humorous nod to space missions, but at its core, it’s the truth: We want to lead the candy industry into a sustainable future. Why, someday, shouldn’t we be able to do this at the largest scale—by acquiring Mars, KitKat, or another iconic confectionery brand? There’s no first principle that says we can’t. So, we’ll try.
Right now, we’re focused on finding our first middle-market confectionery company—the launchpad for the Sprezzatura mission, and the opportunity for us to prove that we're able to lead meaningful legacies into an even sweeter future.
