Day 24’898

Stop Climate Action!

The recent ruling by the European Court of Human Rights is a net negative for the climate.

"The women, mostly in their 70s, said that their age and gender made them particularly vulnerable to the effects of heatwaves linked to climate change. The court said Switzerland's efforts to meet its emission reduction targets had been woefully inadequate. It is the first time the powerful court has ruled on global warming." https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-68768598

This may be a short-term win for activist climate action. However, it alienates the many people who still believe in individual responsibility and refuse the prevalent tendency of self-victimisation in today's society.

The government can't solve all the problems without creating new ones, which will then require more government intervention. Luckily, most people still intuitively grasp this downward spiral. Less luckily, this kind of collectivist climate activism will drive otherwise reasonable people into the arms of politicians who tell them that all the climate stuff is just a hoax.

That's why we need to change our approach.

That's my cause with The Sprezzatura Company and The Sprezzatura Party.

We need to stop Climate Action and start taking real responsibility!
